The Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors is instituting a program to appoint high school students to serve as non-voting members on various boards and commissions, including the Planning Commission, Park & Open Space Board, Shade Tree Commission, Human Relations Commission, Environmental Advisory Council and the Arts and Culture Commission. A brief description of each board and commission has been included in this packet; however, you can find a more detailed explanation by clicking here. Most boards and commissions meet once each month.. Whitpain Township believes that it is important to include a student’s perspective into recommendations made by the boards and commissions, and at the same time, we think it would offer an excellent learning experience for the students.
It is the goal of the Board of Supervisors to appoint students who live in Whitpain Township; however, students from other municipalities may be considered if there are insufficient applications from residents. We ask that all applications, recommendation letters, and supplemental materials be submitted to Eric Traub, Township Manager via email at etraub@whitpaintownship.org.
