The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Township’s Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Fuel Gas, Energy Conservation, Existing Building, Fire, Electrical, Wildland-Urban Interface, Existing Property Maintenance, Performance codes and Zoning Ordinance.

The building codes adopted by the Board of Supervisors are regional, national and international minimum standards for new construction for the protection of health, safety and property. The zoning ordinance contains the minimum requirements for the promotion of the health, safety, morals and the general welfare of residents and visitors. The administration of these codes includes reviewing applications for permits, examining the accompanying plans and documents, issuing the applicable permit(s), conducting inspections during construction and issuing the Certificate of Use and Occupancy upon project completion.
