Celebrate Black History Month
Black History Month is celebrated this month. The 2026 theme, A Century of Black History Commemorations, marks a historic milestone that reflects one hundred years of national efforts to study, honor, and commemorate the history, culture, and contributions of people of African descent.
The theme invites reflection on the power of Black history commemorations in shaping identity, fostering pride, and transforming how Black communities see themselves and how the broader public understands their contributions.
Montgomery County will recognize Black History Month with virtual presentations and an in-person event at Montgomery County Community College on February 25.
