Community Center Project Takes Another Step Forward

Whitpain Township is pleased to announce that the Community Center project took another step forward this week as six prime contracts for the building were advertised and are open to qualified bidders on PennBid, an online bid platform for municipal projects.

Qualified contractors are encouraged to bid. The bid opening will be in mid-March and the construction manager is confident that interest from the contractor community will be robust for the project.

The Community Center will be adjacent to Centre Square Park at the intersection of Route 202 and Jolly Road, where the former Dog Park was located. It is the largest public works project in the history of the Township.

It will be transformational for the community with indoor spaces available for year round meetings, police and fire fighter training, youth sports, adult leagues, and senior activities, as well as private events as space is available.

Once the Township evaluates and award the bids to qualified contractors, it will break ground at the site to start construction of the building in earnest.
