At Tuesday’s meeting, The Board of Supervisors continued discussions on the Park and Recreation Zoning Classification by approving a resolution that further details why the present classification is invalid and how the Board proposes to cure the invalidity.
In December, the Township determined the Park and Recreation zoning classification to be substantially invalid after a review of the classification and the permitted uses under the zoning. The Supervisors took the action to protect properties zoned Park and Recreation from over-development. A landowner could have challenged the validity of the zoning classification and won relief in court.
The matter will now come before the Township's Planning Commission on Tuesday, February 13 for further discussion about appropriate zoning designations for the 24 parcels of land in the Township that are zoned Park and Recreation. The community is welcome to participate in those discussions. All meeting dates will be noted in the Wire, on the Township's website and on Twitter.
