Whitpain Township is one of the oldest townships in Montgomery County. Founded in 1701, today it is a vibrant community, which has been rated by Philadelphia Magazine as one of the best places in the Philadelphia suburbs to live. It is also the headquarters of the Unisys Corporation and Aetna, in addition to being the home to numerous smaller businesses and retail stores.

The Township is a successful mix of residential, commercial and rural development, with an emphasis on livable neighborhoods, passive and active recreation opportunities, respect for diversity, and commitment to each other.

The Wissahickon School District provides public education to the children from the communities of Whitpain Township, Lower Gwynedd Township, and Ambler Borough. The school district has consistently ranked as a superior district in the region.

Special Notices:

The Township's spring Branch and Chip Program begins March 19th and will run for six weeks.

This is a scheduled pick-up. Residents wishing to utilize the service must call the Public Works Department at 610-277-2400, ext. 380. Calls will be taken Monday through Wednesday at noon for that week.
If you do not call, your branches will not be chipped.

There are guidelines to be followed, which will be reviewed when scheduling the service.

2010 Census

Be Counted in Montgomery County
Short questionnaires will be mailed out in March, 2010. There are only ten questions and answers are confidential. Return your survey by April 1, 2010. It's easy and it's the law.

Why You Count
Every year, $300 billion in federal and state funding is allocated to communities based on population. Plus, our number of local, state, and federal leaders is based on this data. To get our "fair share" for Montgomery County, everyone needs to be counted.

Be Counted! Be Heard! Be Represented!
