The functions of the Planning Commission are to review subdivisions, land development plans, conditional use applications and lot line changes, and to make recommendations regarding these to the Board of Supervisors. As a guide in such review the following are used:

	The Comprehensive Plan - a long-range general statement of the amount, intensity and character of land use
	Natural Resources Evaluation - thorough and recent analysis of soil types in flood prone areas, woodland areas, and steep slopes.

Because planning is a continuous process which shapes and guides the physical growth of Whitpain Township in harmony with its social and economic needs, the Planning Commission urges all members of the public to attend its meetings and make known their views.

Regular monthly meetings are held in the Township Building in Meeting Room A at 7:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month (except in August when the Commission is in recess).

The Commission will recess during the month of August. All meetings will be held at 7:30 P.M. Work Sessions to review the agenda will begin at 7:00 P.M. and are open to the public. Special meetings will be announced and advertised as scheduled.
