Tax Collector Extends Hours

The Township's Tax Collector is offering extended office hours as the end of the discount period approaches. The extended hours are:

Monday 8/28 - 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday 8/29 - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday 8/30 - 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Thursday 8/31 - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Supervisors Condemn Violence In Charlottesville

The Board of Supervisors passed a Resolution on Tuesday condemning the violence that recently occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Board also reaffirmed its commitment to continue efficiently, responsibly, and creatively providing the essential services that build value, enhance the quality of life, and protect the health, safety and Rights for all who live in, work in, and enjoy Whitpain.

Boys & Girls Club Holds Open House

The Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club recently held an open house for its new temporary home in West Ambler.

The new facility consists of more than 7,300 square feet of classroom, office and kitchen space with separate boys and girls restrooms and a staff restroom. Children will also enjoy a newly-constructed basketball court and grass play area for other outdoor activities.

A formal ribbon cutting is planned for early September.

Beauty and the Beast Drive-In Movie September 8

Beauty and the Beast will be on screen September 8 for the Parks and Recreation Department's annual drive-in movie.

The movie begins at 8 p.m. at Montgomery County Community College. The parking lot off Morris Road will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10 a car or $5 with a MCCC ID or parking pass.

Community Festival September 23

The Township's annual Community Festival is September 23 at Montgomery County Community College.

The day runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and features live music, a large vendor area, a Health Expo, inflatable rides, a children's game area, food trucks and a pumpkin patch.

Rozes is the headline performer and will be followed by fireworks.

The Community Festival's presenting sponsors are Baird/The Foley Hillsley Group and the MCCC Lively Art Series.
